Thoughtfully grown, close to home

Black River Flower Co. is a small flower farm on five acres in Bangor, Michigan. We grow seasonal flowers for our local community, stock our farmstand as the garden allows, and carefully observe dahlia varieties for future tuber sales.

We began with a simple idea: use what we already have, grow what we love, and build something meaningful for our family and community. What started in the garden is slowly becoming a diverse farm business rooted in curiosity, resourcefulness, and thoughtful growth.

What we’re building

Our farm includes seasonal cut flowers, dahlias, a growing collection of perennial and woody plants, and an evolving farmstand. We also offer carefully selected seeds online and are working toward future dahlia tuber releases.

We believe a farm does not need to become enormous to be valuable. It can grow intentionally—one garden, one variety, and one season at a time.

We want Black River to feel like a small escape. Flowers can interrupt an ordinary day, give someone a reason to slow down, and bring a little beauty into everyday life.

Growing with intention

We are still learning, testing, and building. We pay attention to what performs well on our Southwest Michigan farm, make use of the assets we already have, and expand carefully instead of rushing.
